Lydia has gotten a few cute Halloween cards. I always let her see them and play with them (translation: chew on them) since this is the easiest way for her to enjoy them.
Today she got a card from Grandma Sandy and Abuelito, and loved it. She especially loved the kitty on the front.

Lydia loves books. She always has. She studies them in great detail. For a while now she’s been an expert page-turner. Ever since Paul taught her how to turn pages she takes charge of all reading sessions. Here she is reading by herself after having rearranged her books.

I don’t think Henri knew what he was in for.

Lydia has learned how to go under things. A few days ago she seemed to figure it out, and now she practices her new skill regularly. Before she didn’t get the idea that she had to duck to avoid hitting her head. That’s what she’s figured out. Now she blazes across the living room using a few tunnels: the poang and the side table.

We went for a walk yesterday afternoon, and it was cool enough that we all needed jackets, so Lydia got to estrenar her new coat. She had a good walk and never once tried to remove the hood. Yay.

A new game that Lydia loves is “Where’s Lydia”. This started a day or so ago. She hides her face under a towel or cloth of sorts, then when I say “Where’s Lydia” she uncovers quickly and giggles. We were doing this over and over this afternoon, and when I got the video camera, she got a bit camera shy. Go figure.
But there’s one or two of her doing this on her own at least. Enjoy the video…

Paul installed the gate a few days ago. Yay! It works well as a safety feature for Lydia, and it doubles as a toy for the boys. Perfect.

We went to Burlington today and bought Lydia a winter coat. It’s fun shopping for the little peanut.
There were plenty of ugly coats with bad designs and fake fur. All of the coats for girls are pink or have pink decorations. (It would be nice to have more color options. :-/ ) Well, after lots of looking, I settled on this cute number with a scarf and removable hood. Oh, and I just noticed it’s a London Fog (at a good price). Who knew they made miniatures.
Now all we need are sleepers that fit her now, a few more sweaters, and we should be ready for the cold weather. Apparently we are supposed to have a high in the 50s tomorrow, so we may be able to “estrenar” (wear for the first time, in Spanish) immediately. Fun!

I followed Lydia around the house a few days ago and got some cute shots including one photo with her latest signature nose-wrinkling-smile.

Just wanted to share another shot of Lydia at the park last week.
