Over the last few days we had a fun visit with Grandma Becky. Lydia had a ton of fun playing with Grandma Becky and just hanging out. We went on several shopping trips (Lydia did beautifully), we went to the park, and we messed around. We look forward to her next visit.
We had a great visit with Abuelito. He stayed for over a week, and we all had a great time. Lydia loves Abuelito and was super excited to have him here, as were we. Plus he did all kinds of things around the house that have been on the to do list for at least a year. Since Lydia was born it’s hard to get to those little things that need to be done some day. Thanks to Abuelo for all that you did and for all the fun times. We miss you already and can’t wait to have you visit again soon!
We went to the Atlanta Zoo with Grandma Sandy and Abuelito. It was a perfect day for it. Lydia squealed at the pandas, monkeys, lions, and birds and loved it all. She even happily sat in the stroller! We all had a great time.

Oliver visited this weekend, and on Sunday morning we went to IKEA with him. After IKEA we went out to lunch at Atlantic Station nearby. It was another beautiful day, so we ate outside. All made for a fun morning.
After Lydia’s afternoon nap we took advantage of the gorgeous Atlanta day and went to the park again. We let Lydia mess around then we went for another walk.
It was refreshing to be outside so much this weekend. The rest of the week should be just as beautiful so I’m sure we’ll be out again.
(Again, catching up on my posts…)
Lydia had lots of fun with her cousins when they visited after Christmas last year. Both Sage and Clay are super sweet with her. They played with her, fed her, helped her walk, read books and much, much more. Lydia loves them both and had a great time. They are super cousins, and we hope to see them again soon!
We had a fun visit with Grandma Becky. One of the things we did was go to IKEA (what a surprise). Lydia did super well at IKEA. She was happy to sit in the shopping cart the whole time (a record), and we also enjoyed a hassle-free lunch (another record!). I think Grandma Becky must have magic dust (or maybe it was the cheerios she ate along the way). The trail of cheerios is probably still there.
Here’s hoping for more great trips out like this one!
Becky, John, Kadi, Sage, and Clay were up visiting just after Christmas. One of the fun things we did while they were here was go on a picnic and hike at Arabia Mountain (about 30 minutes away). It’s one of our favorite places to visit nearby, and it was the hike we took last year on Christmas day (while I was pregnant). That made it fun to go back a year later almost to the day..
It also happened to be Lydia’s first picnic and hike. And she loved it. She had to do a bit of hiking on her own before falling asleep in my arms for the rest of the trip. It was wonderful to get out and walk in the woods on a crisp day. I know we’ll be doing this again.
Abuelo and Grandma Sandy visited this past weekend for an early Christmas with us. They also helped us decorate and get some things done. And Lydia loved getting to see them again. She’s still enjoying her new toys. Thanks for a great time.
As you may remember, Lydia and I went to Florida for about a week back in September. I am finally posting pix from our family get-togethers. (It’s not always easy to be timely with posts when I take pix with the regular camera, but here we are, better late than never.)
Grandma Becky had a party so that Lydia could meet more of her family on her dad’s side of the family. She got to meet Great Grandmother Peacock, Michelle, Matt, Joey, Ben, Great Aunty Judy, Melanie, Pamela, and Harold. It was great to see everyone. Lydia liked meeting them all even though she was a bit cranky that day. As it turns out, she was teething. Since that was her first time teething, I didn’t recognize the signs, but know we know.
(More coming soon when I can find a few more minutes.)
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving, our 11th Island of Misfit Toys Thanksgiving. We had Becky and our friends over: Philip, Al, Christina, Kevin, and Annie. Usually Paul spends all day cooking but this year we switched things up. I did some of the cooking and our friends brought dishes and desserts as well. It was all delicious and went very smoothly. Lydia joined us all at the table and loved it. Thanks to all for a wonderful day!
