WOW! 10 months old! That’s what Lydia turned yesterday.
I can’t believe it. She’s getting to be such a big girl now. She’s walking, talking (well some), making signs, repeating, understanding, feeding herself, and more. Today when Paul was talking to her, she seemed to really understand what he said. She’d dropped a toy, he told her it was on the floor, and she looked down to get it. I think she’s really starting to understand us. She also nods her head when we ask her questions, like “do you want to eat” or “do you want more”. It’s really amazing how much she learns each day. Just yesterday she repeated “ight” when I told her “light”. She also repeated “ou” when I told her “mouth”. And today, as she was walking around, she said “hello”. Crazy.
Oh, and speaking of big girls, a week ago at Lydia’s Dr appt, she was 19.5 lbs (50%) and 29.74 inches tall (95%).
Happy 10th month birthday, sweetie!

Happy 9 month birthday, Lydia! Wow. This is just flying by. I can’t believe our little sweetie is 9 months old!
Today she’s been standing a lot and walking holding on to us. She’s pretty fast at cruising, too (walking while holding on to furniture). I saw her contemplating walking today, but she squatted down carefully and crawled instead.
Lydia has also started giving and receiving. She’ll give us a toy and then takes it back. Very cute.
Oh, and last night after waking up, making some baby babble, and getting no response Lydia called out loud and clear, “mama!”, to get my attention. Well, it definitely worked!
I look forward to more new things to come. Happy day, sweetie!

Lydia turned 3 months yesterday! She tried out her jumperoo entertainment center and loves it! She quickly learned she can make herself bounce in there.
Some things Lydia’s learned this month: she smiles back, splashing in the tub is fun, she giggles when tickled (learned a few days ago), she “talks” and squeals a lot, she likes baby crunches, she holds her head steadily, she loves sitting up, she has toes, her fingers are yummy, nature is quite entertaining, cause and effect.
She’s also getting bigger: 14.5 lbs and 24 inches!

Wow! I can’t believe it’s already been 2 months. She’s changed so much since we first met her. Here’s a video of Lydia at 2 months…

Our little sweetie is 8 weeks today! Happy 8th week, Lydia!
She’s grown so much in so many ways. She seems much older than 8 weeks. This week we’ve heard a few giggles here and there. And yesterday she found her hands! More changes… she’s also gotten super squirmy and has great control over her eyes now. She looked over at Paul yesterday as soon as he walked up to her. Of course she continues to grow well. She’s up to 14 lbs and 23.75 inches long.

Our sweet angel is 7 weeks old today! I can’t believe it’s been that long now. She’s getting so big! She’s not only following us with her eyes when we talk to her but now she moves her head around to find where we are. She’s holding her head up well these days with a few bobbles here and there. Lydia’s getting very strong and wiggly. She is cooing more and more. Paul heard a giggle a few days ago. She hit the 8 hour mark a few nights ago. Yes, 8 hrs of sleep! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us this week.

I took a short video of Lydia on her 6 week birthday. That way everyone can see how much she’s changed since she was born..

Today Lydia is 6 weeks old. Happy 6 weeks, sweetie! I can’t believe it’s already been that long.
She’s changed so much since she was born. Paul weighed her yesterday, and she’s around 12 pounds now! She’s also much taller. She’s always been a good eater, and I guess this shows that she is.
Last night I went out for a very nice meal with our good friends who are visiting, Marc and Esther. We went to South City Kitchen. Paul kept our sweetie so I could go. It was nice to get out for a delicious meal with friends. It had been almost a week since I’d been out of the house, so this was a real treat.
