Lydia talks about the pool with such excitement every morning when she wakes. And when she asks to play in the pool her eyes and face light up. So how can I not indulge her? Here she is enjoying pool time once again this afternoon!
Lydia loves to play dress up. She got some dress up clothes from Aunt Theresa for Christmas, and she got them out to play. She specially loves her wand and “bings” people, dolls, and cats softly over the head now.
Lydia and I played with playdough today. She had me sculpt a dog, and I added a cat. She walked over to her kitchen, got them a water bowl, and placed them so they could drink.
She also pretended that they went inside and outside, inside and outside, and so on. Cute!
Lydia was thrilled to shop today, since she got to push a mini cart and select things off the shelves. She picked 2 potatoes, 1 apple and then the items that Paul and I selected. She had a ball. She even got to put the items on the counter and help carry the bag!
Lydia decided Maggie needed to be fed today. So she put her in the high chair and shared her snack with the baby. This was all her idea!
We joined Gymboree to give Lydia another social activity, and she loves it! We have class once a week and free gym time three times a week. She’s one of the more exuberant kids in class and is in the middle of all the activities. Yesterday at free gym time she made a friend, Sophia, and played with her most of the time.
Since it rained yesterday we decided to go to John Howell Park in the Highlands this morning. The park ground is made of shredded tires so the likelihood of mud (and mess) was low. Well, it turned out to be not so low, actually. Lydia found the sand pit, so it wasn’t as clean a park trip as I was hoping. At least she had a great time playing with the sand, the kids, and the jungle gym.
